Together we'll ring in the New Year!

You know how every now and again you'll find a song that matches your life in an all-encompasing nutshell?

Me neither. I'm not so two-dimensional. But every now and again, I'll find a song that gets really damn close.

Usually, it's a song by Motion City Soundtrack, which is why they're my favorite band at the moment (a weird rekindling of love for a band long-lost).

"Together we'll ring in the New Year" is a beautiful example of why I don't like parties. Or most social events. My family's pretty cool when I need them, but other people? Oh no, not for me. Mainly because no one ever listens and I'm stuck pretending I don't know anyone, then pretending that I had a good time the next day.

But oh well, that's life I think.

Someday I'll enjoy having more than three people in a room at a ti--oh who am I kidding. I like near-solitude too much.
