Alright Disney fans! Break out your pens, papers, and
prismas! Open up Word, or open up a notebook, because today we’re starting a
Disney segment here on the strange things!
As you mighta noticed, Cassim’s the name of Aladdin’s father in the 40 Thieves!
Jasmine wasn’t originally a sweetie
The headstrong Princess was initially to be a royal pain, having a song called “Call me Princess”, establishing a superficial nightmare child refusing to marry for the sake of keeping her lavish Princess style. Both she and Aladdin were supposed to initially change as the story went on to more responsible, carrying, and respectful characters.
Alas, the studio disliked the idea of Aladdin falling in love through looks alone. So they scrapped it.
With love,
Nikola Strange

Unfortunately (or arguably fortunately) for the Disney fans
of the world, there’s a lot of good (and not so good) material that was never
used for the movies: So here’s the beginning of a dedication to ten classic
Disney movie’s deleted goodies.
I fully expect a link to the fanarts and fanfiction, so long
as it stays PG. ;)
This week, we’re doing Aladdin!
This week, we’re doing Aladdin!
This Disney classic, admittedly, probably wouldn’t have
existed if it had been done any later, and because of this wins a place in my
heart, along with the fact both the male and female protagonists are strong,
and the music never gets old!
So, first and foremost:
Aladdin was supposed to have a mother
Scrapped for the sake of simplifying the story some, Aladdin’s officially unnamed mother was a sweet woman whom belonged to the lower echalons of Agrabah. Supported by her son’s thieving (apparently against her will), she’d urge him to try and become a better person and come clean with Princess Jasmine. She was scrapped for seeming somewhat superfluous, though Howard Ashman fell in love with her and wrote her a melody by the name “Proud of your boy”.

Aladdin had friends
outside of Genie, Abu and the Carpet
Three to be exact. Babkak, Omar, and Kassim made up the rest of a barbershop quartet that tried hard to avoid real work. And they had no less than three songs together! "How quick they forget", Babkak, Omar, Aladdin, Cassim , and "High Adventure" were lost from the film along with the three muddling characters (whom have admittedly won a part of my heart already due to the lack of background to them—I can make them whatever I want).

Jafar had two musical
numbers in the film!
Fans of the villains, rejoice! The powerful sorcerer had two omitted songs for your listening pleasure bellow: “Why me?” and “Humiliate the boy”, both revolving around blowing “Prince Ali’s” cover.

Aladdin and Jasmine
have an alternate meeting.
Initially, as seen through the rough artwork, Aladdin and Jasmine were to meet through “Abu, the great monkey spirit”, whom was to sound an awful like the street rat himself!
