Hello, I'm Nikola Strange, though most friends call me Nicky. It's a pleasure to meet you (again).
My pen name looks nothing like my real name (this also isn't my only name, either! XD), though it does mean a bit to me: I got my "given name" from my favorite scientist, Nikolai Tesla, and the name of Santa Clause in RoTG, Nicholas St. North (he's Russian, and Nikolai's the Russian deviation of Nicholas)--I just dropped the "i" to make it look more feminine. My "last name" is in part from the Marvel's sorcerer hero, Dr. Strange, and in part by my own quirks. I didn't mean for it to seem obnoxious, my friends just call me weird all the time.
Besides comics and science, I really like TV shows( Doctor Who, Merlin, Sherlock, How I Met Your Mother, Once Upon a Time, ect), collecting a bunch of Snapple facts (even if it's mentally), history books, drooling over the food network, drawing, reblogging on Tumblr, and YouTubers.
Especially YouTubers. Ever since I started watching YouTubers, I had been dying to make my own vlog. Actually, the whole point of this blog was to compensate the fact that I didn't have the courage to make a vlog! I wasn't even going to start this until my English teacher told me to stop complaining over assignments--"you would write over anything!". I took it as an invite to start.
Though I have started my YouTube channel a while ago, I still find this place to be friendly, and almost like another home. I'm strangely proud of both projects and I am super grateful to have people viewing my vids and reading my blog.
It comes down to what zefrank said about the social network--people have the urge to connect to other people. We crave to hear and be heard, because from there we all feel less alone. And that's the beauty of having one degree of detachment--we have to power to be open and honest and thus coexist much closer than we could have beforehand.
I really hope someone else connects to anything I make, or at the very least enjoys the read or view.
